Mr. Tarpening is the firm’s Executive Vice President and Senior Portfolio Strategist. He is a member of PIA’s three-person Macro Strategy group, the firm’s Investment Strategy Group, and a Principal. Mr. Tarpening joined PIA in 1993 as an Investment Officer and member of the Equity Portfolio Management Group. Mr. Tarpening is currently responsible for strategic portfolio construction and oversight of the PIA Business Development Group. Mr. Tarpening began his investment career in 1984 with Drexel Burnham Lambert (DBL) in Beverly Hills. In 1987, Tim became a Registered Representative with DBL, and later joined PaineWebber as a Vice President of Investments prior to joining PIA. Mr. Tarpening received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of California at Santa Barbara. In 1996, he earned his CIMA credential at The Wharton School of Business.
Bradley P. Schluter, AIF®

Mr. Schluter is a Senior Vice President and the firm’s Director of Marketing. Brad’s responsibilities include business development and client management in the western United States. Brad joined PIA in 2001 with more than eighteen years of investment experience. Prior to joining PIA, he served as the Director of Marketing for The Burridge Group LLC. Previous investment experience includes Nicholas Applegate Capital Management, where he was responsible for business development for their western territory. Brad began his investment career with E.F. Hutton in San Diego. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Southern California.
Thomas DiBari, CIMA®

Mr. DiBari is a Senior Vice President and Regional Director responsible for business development and client management in the northern United States. Mr. DiBari also serves as a Development Director for Broker-Dealer Consulting Services. Prior to joining PIA in 1999, Tom served as a Financial Advisor with PaineWebber in Manhattan, and a Manager of the New York Consulting office for Ibbotson Associates. Tom began his professional career in Corporate Finance and Commercial Lending with PNC Bank in Pittsburgh. Mr. DiBari earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, and graduated Cum Laude with an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. In 2002, he earned his CIMA credential at The Wharton School of Business.
Guy Torres, CIMA®, AIF®

Mr. Torres is a Vice President and Regional Director responsible for business development and client management in the central United States. Mr. Torres also serves as the Development Director for Turn-key Asset Management Programs (TAMP’s) and the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel. Prior to joining PIA in 2003, Guy was a Principal with Trivium Consulting, LLC, a Senior Vice President of Consulting Services with Portfolio Management Consultants, Inc., and a Financial Analyst with Asset Management Group. Mr. Torres earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 1997, he earned his CIMA credential at The Wharton School of Business.
Austin W. Rutledge, CFA, CIMA®, AIF®

Mr. Rutledge is a Vice President and Regional Director responsible for business development and client management in the southeastern United States. Mr. Rutledge also serves as the Development Director for Institutional Consulting Services. Prior to joining PIA in 2000, Austin served as the Director of Investment Products at Syndicated Capital, Inc. Mr. Rutledge earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Davidson College. In 2004, he earned his CIMA credential from The Wharton School of Business. In 2005 he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.
Nicholas Parenti, CIMA®

Marketing Manager
Mr. Parenti is a Vice President and works directly with Tim Tarpening. Nick’s responsibilities include liaison between firm compliance and business development, production of sales/marketing materials, and investor communications. Since joining PIA in 1998 as an intern, Mr. Parenti has served in several capacities including equity trading and client service. Nick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance from Loyola Marymount University. In 2004, he earned his CIMA credential at University of California at Berkley.
Arlen Sookias
Associate Director
Mr. Sookias is the Associate Director for the Western and Central Region, responsible for supporting financial advisors with business development and client service. Prior to joining Pacific Income Advisers, Mr. Sookias served as Senior Marketing/Client Service Associate with Oakwood Capital Management and as Senior Investment Associate with Morgan Stanley. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne.
Gary C. Chen
Associate Director
Mr. Chen is the Associate Director for the Northern and Southern Region, responsible for supporting financial advisors with business development and client service. Prior to joining Pacific Income Advisers, Mr. Chen served as an Investment Consultant with Phoenix Investment Partners, an Investment Analyst with Shuster Financial Group, and a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
T. Michael Graf, CFA
Senior Account Manager
Mr. Graf is a Senior Account Manager of PIA. His primary responsibility is new business development for the Firm’s Equity Management team. Prior to joining PIA, Mr. Graf was a Senior Vice President of Windward Capital Management in Los Angeles. Mr. Graf earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Catherine Schubert, CFA
Account Associate
Ms. Schubert is responsible for composite maintenance and GIPS verification. Catherine also assists our client service group with institutional client reporting. Ms. Schubert began her investment career at Pacific Income Advisers in 1997. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. She also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2003.
Ella Ponomarov

Ms. Ponomarov is the Executive Assistant to Tim Tarpening, and her responsibilities include database management. Ms. Ponomarov began her career at PIA in 2006.
